I try to gather my thoughts/hold myself together. Sometimes finding comfort in the gathering of others/sometimes not. Finding light in darkness/darkness in light. We gather together. Hold together/togather

In this exhibition specially commissioned for NI Mental Health Arts Festival in association with Banana Block, Jonny McEwen explores the landscape of the mind through semi figurative studies.

Born in Enniskillen in 1966, Jonny McEwen began painting in 1986 and

first exhibited in 1991. A Graduate of the Art College in Belfast, he

has exhibited widely across the UK and Ireland.

Biography

McEwen’s work is part of the following public collections: UTV, Dept of Environment NI, Secretary of States Office, Office of Public Works, University of Cork; as well as many private collections.

He has produced a major public art commission for the Skainos Building on the Newtownards Rd. He has recently completed a Masters in Fine Art (Distinction) in Belfast. Currently has a studio at The Vault Artists collective, Newtownards Rd.
