'Field Walk 040121' is a sound walk recorded from the 'point of hearing' of the artist. It follows his journey along a pilgrim route, known as the Kerry Camino, which passes through the rural townland of Inch, Co. Kerry. The walk was recorded at the beginning of 2021, when Steenson entered a period of restricted movement, after being a close contact with someone diagnosed with Covid-19. In this rural context, the sounds made by the artist are some of the few human sounds that can be heard, with a focus on the artist’s breathing forming a meditative thread to the recording, as he traverses through the changing terrain of the camino.
